Visit of Chinese Delegation to IPRI

DSCN1637President IPRI welcomed the visiting delegation. He told them that the relations between Gansu Association for International Friendly Contacts (GAIFC), Xinjiang Association for International Friendly Contacts (XAIFC) and IPRI were as close as relations between Pakistan and China. He said that IPRI was very keen on maintaining its relationship with the GAIFC and XAIFC. He appreciated GAIFC’s gesture of extending fellowship to an IPRI scholar during 2013, which provided him an opportunity to learn more about China. The President hoped that GAIFC will continue extending this facility to IPRI scholars in future as well. The leader of the GAIFC Mr. Liu Guangjun responded positively and promised that an IPRI scholar would be invited to Gansu this year on a similar fellowship.

A visiting member of the delegation said that every time the delegation visited IPRI they had learnt many things from its scholars. He said that many young Chinese scholars did not have knowledge about South Asia and Central Asia, therefore interaction of XAIFC team with IPRI scholars was useful. Mr. Liu Guangjun said that beside the young scholars, GAIFC would like to invite senior IPRI scholars to visit their Institute for exchange of views on international and regional security situation.
